Presentation of the book Sapiens took place in five regions of Kyrgyzstan

The news of the presentation of the book “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” echoed in the regional schools of Osh, Talas, Karakol, and Naryn, sparking a wave of interest among teachers and students. This international bestseller, authored by Professor Yuval Noah Harari, a historian and philosopher, is now available in Kyrgyz language across all regions of the country. The idea of acquainting with the book “Sapiens” in the native language arose in the context of the absence of scientific literature for adolescents and adults in Kyrgyz.

The book “Sapiens” acquaints with various aspects of human history, scientific progress, and socio-cultural changes, providing teachers and students with important knowledge and stimulating reflections. Approximately five thousand copies of the book were distributed across the country’s regions, with access to the text also provided online on the educational website https://bilimbulagy.org. This means that even in the remotest corners of the country, teachers and students can access literature in Kyrgyz language.

After the presentation, “Sapiens” garnered numerous positive reviews from teachers, who see the book as an additional educational tool. They note that the book opens up new perspectives for students and stimulates analysis and discussion of important issues. Additionally, with the addition of “Sapiens” to the bilimbulagy.org website, teachers and students gained access to additional books in Kyrgyz language, opening up new opportunities for learning and self-education.

Thus, the presentation of the book “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” in regional schools became not only a cultural event but also a step towards enriching the educational experience of the younger generation. By expanding access to knowledge and stimulating reflection, this initiative demonstrates the power of education in building an informed society.
